Who We Are - Trustees

Jo Webber

Jolyon grew up in Woodbridge. He went to St Mary’s Primary, Kingston Middle and Farlingaye High Schools. As a boy and young man, he sang in the choir of St Mary’s Church. He left school at the age of 16 and began training as a metallurgist at Brafe Engineering.

Later, his vocation changed to the fire service and he served as a volunteer firefighter at Woodbridge for 18 months, then a total of 8 years full-time at Lowestoft and Ipswich fire stations. Promotion took him to Somerset, where he is now a specialist Sub Officer leading the brigade’s work with young people.

Jolyon first travelled to Peru as a member of an Oak Hall "A Taste Of Mission" group in 1999. Since then, under the umbrella of the newly formed charity Street Children of Peru, Jolyon has led work teams to Peru each year, helping SU develop their work with abandoned street boys.

Ed Saunders

Ed grew up in Solihull where he went to school, and read Law at Cambridge before qualifying as a barrister. Following a period of ill health he re-qualified as a solicitor, and has specialised in Industrial Disease Litigation for the last 9 years.

He got involved in working with street kids after reading a book called "Toybox" about such a work in Guatemala. The Lawyers' Christian Fellowship were planning to run a trip to Peru shortly afterwards, but sadly this fell through. However he was put in touch with Jo Webber who had been on the same Oak Hall trip to Peru.

Ed has been out to Peru with the charity for the last 6 years. He is single and 38 years of age.
